PDF doesn't print to actual size in Acrobat

If your pdf is printing too small or large, it's most likely caused by the "Page Scaling" option in the print dialog box. This is easy to correct, just change it to "none" and you're document will print at the actual size.

Set page scaling to none in acrobat
To print a pdf at acutal size, make sure the the "Page Scaling" option is set to "None" in the print dialog box.

"Fit to page" is appropriate for most documents because it ensures that the document will fit within the printer margins. Most copiers and office printers have non printing margin around the perimeter of the document and "Fit to Printable Area" automatically corrects for this. This is so that you don't print 1000 copies of a report and find out afterwards that part of a sentence on page 22 was cut off by the printer margins.

This may seem obvious but I have seen this problem many times. When the dimensions of a job are critical it's important to have the printer check for this.
